Skills and coaches statistics

This screen only includes data related to coaching: milestones created by coaches, their completion, and the levels assigned when they are evaluated. Quiz results and capsule completion are not included in these statistics.

The data displayed depends on the permissions and scope defined in the permission model. Two administrators may therefore see different results on the same screen.

⚠️ Required permissions: the Skills Statistics permission, available under the statistics permissions in the permission model. It provides four access levels, which also determine the scope of the data displayed:

  • Can view skills statistics: gives access to all skills statistics within the authorized scope;
  • Can view skills statistics for groups where they are a coach: restricts the data to groups where the administrator is defined as a coach;
  • Can view skills statistics for users belonging to skills groups: restricts the data to users belonging to the selected skills groups;
  • No skills statistics: removes access to these statistics.

See Who can see which statistics? for more information about statistics permissions.

Open the tab

  1. Go to Statistics > Skills.

  2. Select the sub-tab you want to view:

    • Skills: displays one row per skill;
    • Coaches: displays one row per coach.

Above the table, a counter shows the number of skills displayed and the selected period.

Use Search for a skill to filter the list by skill name.

Read the columns in the Skills sub-tab

Nine columns are displayed by default: Skill name, Number of coached learners, Number of coaches, Number of completed milestones, Milestone completion rate, Average level, % of milestones requiring a tip, Average theoretical level and Average manager level.

The indicators are calculated as follows:

  • a learner is considered coached as soon as a milestone is assigned to them for the skill, whether or not it has been evaluated;
  • a coach is counted as soon as they have created at least one milestone for the skill;
  • a completed milestone is a milestone that has been evaluated;
  • Milestone completion rate corresponds to the share of completed milestones out of all milestones for the skill;
  • Average level corresponds to the average of the levels assigned to completed milestones for the skill.

Six of these indicators are also available in a version limited to the selected period, identified by the - active period suffix: Coached learners, Coaches, Completed milestones, Milestone completion rate, Average level and % of milestones requiring a tip.

Use Columns to show or hide these columns and change their order in the table.

⚠️ The Period filter only applies to columns with the “- active period” suffix. Columns without this suffix include the full history, regardless of the selected period.

Average theoretical level and Average manager level do not have an - active period version: they reflect the current state of the data.

To learn more about periods and filters, see Filters and audiences.

Distinguish between the three skill levels

Three indicators include the word level, but they are based on different data:

  • Average level: the average of the levels assigned by coaches when evaluating completed milestones;
  • Average theoretical level: calculated from completed learning content, without input from a coach or manager;
  • Average manager level: the average of the levels assigned by managers for the skill.

⚠️ These three averages are not calculated from the same population. Each one only includes the data available from its own source.

A difference between two indicators may therefore be caused by different populations being included rather than by an actual difference in skill level.

To investigate these differences, open the skill details and compare the results learner by learner.

Read the Coaches sub-tab

The Coaches sub-tab displays one row per coach across all skills.

The table includes the following columns: Coach name, Average level, Milestones, Completed milestones, Completion rate, Coached users and Last activity.

By default, the list is sorted by Coached users, from highest to lowest.

In this sub-tab:

  • Average level corresponds to the average of the levels assigned by the coach across the milestones they evaluated;
  • Milestones corresponds to the total number of milestones created by the coach;
  • Last activity shows the date of their most recent coaching activity.

⚠️ The period selector and group filters do not affect the data in this sub-tab. Only the name search and advanced filters can restrict the list displayed. The other filters remain visible in the panel but do not change the values shown.

Open skill details

Click a row in the Skills sub-tab to open the details of the selected skill. Two sub-tabs are available: Learners and Coaches.

The Learners sub-tab displays the following columns for each learner: User name, Level, Theoretical level, Manager level, Assigned milestones, Created milestones, Completed milestones, Completion rate, First completion date and Last activity date.

In this view, Completion rate corresponds to the share of completed milestones out of all milestones assigned to the learner.

The Coaches sub-tab uses the same columns as the main Coaches sub-tab, but only for the selected skill.

Good to know

“% of milestones requiring a tip” does not mean that a tip was actually provided. This indicator measures the share of milestones for which a tip is required for the skill, not the share of milestones where a tip was actually added.

A skill with no data displays 0 rather than an empty cell. An Average level of 0 can therefore mean either that no milestone has been evaluated yet, or that all evaluated milestones were assigned the first level.

Levels are displayed as numbers. Custom labels defined for proficiency levels do not appear in these tables.

These tables show a current state, not a trend. No indicator directly compares one period with another.
