For learners based in China, WeChat is often the only application reachable from their device. The integration hosts Beedeez inside WeChat: learners sign in with their WeChat account and reach the platform from a menu published in your official account, without installing anything else.
What you need on the WeChat side
The integration runs on your company’s official WeChat account. Beedeez neither creates that account nor generates its credentials.
Collect two values from it before you start: the application identifier and the application secret. Beedeez uses them to obtain an access token from WeChat. A missing or incorrect value blocks the configuration, because without that token the menu cannot be sent.
Configuring the integration
- Open Configuration > Integrations > External Services.
- Turn on the Wechat row. The Configuration Wechat button appears underneath it.
- Click Configuration Wechat. A window opens with three fields.
- Fill in Application ID and Application Secret with the values from your official account.
- Fill in Menu content with the menu you want to publish in WeChat.
- Click Confirm.
Confirm sends the menu to WeChat immediately, using the credentials you entered. If WeChat refuses them, the menu is not published and the window does not close.
The menu currently configured is displayed under the Configuration Wechat button. You can check what is published without reopening the window.
How learners sign in
Learners reach Beedeez from your official WeChat account and authorise the sign-in in WeChat, which asks them to share their WeChat profile.
The first sign-in does not open the platform directly. Since Beedeez does not yet know which learner that WeChat identity belongs to, the learner is sent to the Beedeez sign-in page and identifies themselves once with their usual method. That step links the two accounts, and it also works when your platform authenticates through SSO.
Once the link exists, signing in through WeChat opens the learner’s home screen directly, with no further identification.
Before planning a rollout in China
WeChat sign-in does not answer on the usual platform address: it uses an address dedicated to China. Reaching services hosted outside China remains a separate subject, and it is not settled by this integration.
💡 Advice: handle a China deployment as a project of its own with your Beedeez contact rather than as a single option to enable. Three questions come first: where the data is hosted, what latency your learners will experience, and which content must remain available offline.
