Designing visuals with Canva
Canva is an external design tool that Beedeez can open from the media picker, so that you create or reuse a visual without downloading a file and importing it back. Beedeez opens Canva at the dimensions expected by the element you are working on, and the design you pick is imported into the media library as an image. Once that image is in place, you can reopen the design in Canva and bring the updated version back.

⚠️ Prerequisites: the Canva integration must be enabled on your account, and each author must connect their own Canva account. Enabling the integration is not enough on its own: an author who has not connected their account will not be able to import anything.
Connecting your Canva account
The connection is personal and is made once per author, from the back office.
- Open your Profile page.
- Go to the Integrations section.
- On the Canva card, click Connect to Canva. A Canva window opens for you to sign in and authorise the connection.
- Grant the authorisation in Canva, then come back to Beedeez.
The card then shows the Connected status and the date under Connected since. As long as it shows Not connected, Canva remains unusable for you, even if colleagues have already connected their own account.
You can end the connection at any time with Disconnect from Canva, on the same card.
Inserting a Canva design
Canva appears everywhere you can add an image: a capsule visual, an image inside a capsule, a track, or the images used to customise your app.
- Open the media picker with Add medias, or with the button that adds an image to the element you are editing.
- Open the Create a new visual tab.
- On the Canva card, click Upload from Canva. Canva opens at the dimensions expected for this visual.
- Create your design, or pick one from your Canva library, then send it back to Beedeez from the Canva window.
Beedeez imports the result as an image, adds it to the media library and places it on the element you were editing.
💡 Group your reusable designs in a Canva folder. Your account folders are listed in the Canva window, so a design you already own is faster to find than by scrolling your whole library.
Editing a design already used in a capsule
An image imported this way keeps a link to its Canva design. Changes you make directly in Canva do not reach the capsule on their own: you bring the new version back from Beedeez.
- Open the media picker again on the element that carries the visual.
- Under Image in use, find the image and click Edit in Canva. The design opens in the Canva account connected to your profile.
- Make your changes, then send the design back to Beedeez.
Beedeez imports the updated design as a new image and puts it in place.
⚠️ Resizing breaks the link with the design. A Canva image carries a warning icon whose tooltip states: This image is a Canva design and Resizing it will prevent any further Canva editions from this content. If you use Resize image on it, Edit in Canva no longer appears for that content, and you have to import the design again to update it.
Because the design opens in the Canva account connected to your profile, a design created by another author is only editable if your own Canva account can open it.
💡 A Canva account shared by your content team keeps designs editable when their author is away.
Finding your Canva imports again
In the media picker and in the media library, the filter on the type of creation offers Canva creations, which restricts the list to the images imported this way. That is the quickest way to find a visual again when you no longer remember its file name.
Support boundary
Canva is a service external to Beedeez, with its own account, its own limits and its own terms of use. Beedeez support can help with the connection and the import inside the back office; a problem that happens inside Canva itself, including what its licences allow you to publish, is handled by Canva.
Going further
- The media library: where imported visuals are stored, and the limits that apply to them.
- Sketching diagrams with Excalidraw: the other tool in the Create a new visual tab, with no account to connect.
- Creating and sharing: productivity tools: the other integrations available around content creation.
