Share a capsule or a track in Slack

From the back office, you can post a capsule or a track into one of your Slack channels. The message carries the title of the content, its description and a link that opens it in your app. Slack works here as an announcement channel: the post makes the content visible to your teams, it does not give them access to it.

⚠️ Prerequisites: the Slack integration must be enabled on your account, and a person allowed to authorise the Beedeez app in your Slack workspace must connect that workspace.

Connect your Slack workspace

  1. Open Integrations, then the External Services page.
  2. In Other Integrations, locate Slack and click Add to Slack. The Slack authorisation page opens in a new tab.
  3. Authorise the Beedeez app on the workspace you want to use.
  4. Come back to the back office and click Synchronize. The page reloads your configuration.

Once the workspace is connected, the page shows Connected workspace: followed by its name, together with a Slack configuration button. That button opens a window where you can Change workspace or Disconnect.

Post a capsule or a track into a channel

  1. Open the Share window from the back office.
  2. Go to the Capsules or the Tracks tab, then select the content in the list.
  3. Click Share with, then choose Slack.
  4. Select the destination channel in Diffusion channel. The Share button stays disabled until a channel is selected.
  5. Fill in Presentation message if you want to introduce the content. This text appears above the content in the Slack post.
  6. Click Share.

A confirmation message names the channel that received the post, in the form Your capsule was shared to the channel: followed by the channel name.

The Slack entry appears in the Share with menu only when the Slack integration is enabled on your account. If no workspace authorisation is available, the message No valid authorisation found for your Slack team! is displayed instead of the channel list, with an Integrate button that restarts the authorisation.

What the Slack post contains

The post is assembled by Beedeez and contains, in this order:

  • your presentation message, when you filled one in;
  • the title of the capsule or of the track;
  • its description;
  • a link labelled Open in followed by the name of your app.

Anyone reading the channel sees the title and the description, even if the content is not distributed to them.

Which channels you can select

The list offers the public channels of the connected workspace. Archived channels are excluded, and private channels are not offered.

Channels are read from Slack each time you open the Slack sharing area, so a channel created after the connection appears without any additional step. If you cannot find a channel you expect, check that it is public and not archived in your workspace.
